How to Design Simple Animated Poster in Adobe Photoshop

Hello, everyone today we are going to show you “How to Design Simple Animated Poster in Adobe Photoshop”. In this tutorial, you will learn how to design the animated poster for social media. Don’t worry if you are new here this is a step by step tutorial also have a screenshot of each step so you can practice it by yourself by downloading the project PSD file.

Step 01
  • Open the Adobe Photoshop software.
  • Go to the “File” menu and click on the “New” option.
  • Select the new document size according to your requirements.
  • Now we have to place the background image.
  • To do so, go to the “File” menu and click on the place option.
  • “Right Click” on the “Background” image layer and click on the “Convert to Smart Object” option.
  • Now press “Ctrl+T” and resize the background image to cover the whole “Canvas”.

Step 02
  • Now place the main image which you want to animate.
  • So, go to the “File” menu and click on the “Place” option.
  • Press “Ctrl+T” and resize your image.
  • Now take the “Pen Tool” from “Tools Bar”.
  • Make a selection around the first “Slice” as shown screenshot (2.4).
  • “Right Click” on the slice and click on the “Make Selection” option.
  • Now take any other selection tool and “Right Click” on the selection then click on the “Layer Via Cut” option.
  • It will separate the slice to a new layer.
  • Repeat the same process for another slice to separate it to a new layer.

Step 03
  • Take the “Horizontal Type Tool” from the “Tools Bar”.
  • Write what you want to display on your poster.
  • Select the “Text Layer” and click on the “Create Warped Text” button.
  • Wrap your text according to your point of view.
  • After “Wrapping” place your text where you want.

Step 04
  • Now we have to animate our poster.
  • To do so, go to the “Window” menu and click on the “Timeline” option.
  • The first animation “Frame” will be created by “Default”.
  • To add the “2nd Animation Frame” click on the “Add New Frame” button.
  • Now “Hide” the layer which you want to animate in the 2nd frame.
  • Add “3rd Frame” and visible the layer again.
  • Now add “4th Frame” and “Hide” 2nd slice.
  • Add “5th Frame” and visible the 2nd slice layer.
  • Change the animation to “Forever”.
  • Here your animation is ready now we have to save it as in “Gif” formate.
  • Go to the “File” menu and click on the “Save For Web” option.
  • Change the “Preset” to “Gif 128 Dithered” and click on the “Save” option.
  • Finally, your animated poster is ready.
