Requirements

This online training is about modelling and Enterprise Architecture. We use Sparx Enterprise Architect as our modelling tool. We will discuss various open enterprise architecture modelling languages including ArchiMate, BABoK and BizBOK.

The training is hands-on so you will create a model of the enterprise architecture in a number of diagrams. Based on these diagrams you will get an understanding of which concepts are relevant in an enterprise architecture and how you relate the concepts to each other.

In the first section of the training you learn how to use the modelling tool Sparx Enterprise Architect for creating architecture diagrams in ArchiMate.

In the second section you will learn the basics of an enterprise architecture modelling language. For example about the metamodel and the concepts that are present in a modelling language for enterprise modelling

In the fourth section we discuss various viewpoints that are used to divide your model in layers and aspects and how to create connections between the layers. For every layer and aspect you will do an assignment.

In the last section we will discuss extra functionalities available in Sparx Enterprise Architect to make optimal use of a repository and a professional modelling tool.

The course has various extra’s like sample models in a file based repository, documents with extra information about modelling and links to background material about enterprise architecture modeling.
